Ptychamalia — Geometridae oilasiga mansub kuya jinsidir. Ushbu jins 1932-yilda ingliz entomologi Prout tomonidan tavsiflangan. Jinsning yagona turi — Ptychamalia dorneraria[1][2] .
Ptychamalia dorneraria ilk bor 1913-yilda amerikalik entomologlar William Barnes va James Halliday McDunnough tomonidan tavsiflangan. Ushbu tur Shimoliy Amerikada uchraydi.
