Flag Regulation of 18 June 1937.

Further information about the flag (in order to avoid constant vandalism):
The Reich Flag Act of 1935 (Reichsflaggengesetz vom 15.9.1935) stipulated that the "Reich- and Merchant Flag" was to be depicted with the disk slightly shifted to the flag pole (RGBl. I (1935) No. 122). (Translation in English): "the... (Reich's) flag is a red rectangle with a white disc on its central axis, shifted slightly to the flagpole, with a black swastika standing on the tip, the lower leg of which is open to the flagpole...ratio of height to length of the flag cloth as 3:5". As the term "slightly" was very imprecise and therefore the flag manufacturers did not have exact dimensions, a law of 18. June 1937, precisely determined the extent of the displacement (see included copy). The context is explained in the German language publication of the German Flag Society "Der Flaggenkurier" No. 13/2001 on pages 17 ff.:Andreas Herzfeld: Einige unbekannte Flaggenänderungen 1933–1945 (Some unknown flag changes 1933-1945). A summary of the facts can be found in English on the following website (with all variants of the swastika flag, including the version used from 1933-1935 with the central disk): The German swastika flag 1933-1945 www.loeser.us
