Channichthyidae
The crocodile icefish or white-blooded fish (which comprise the family Channichthyidae) are the only known vertebrates to lack hemoglobin in their blood, even as adults and the only ones that survive without the oxygen-transporting red blood cells that get their color from this substance. Chionodraco hamatus (known commonly as the Antarctic icefish) is one of the species in this family of fish with colorless blood.
