Unknown date. Undated, the museum suggests a date of c. 1640-41. However Slatkes has observed 'there is no strong stylistic or documentary reason the print could not be placed several years earlier or later.' Leonard J. Slatkes, Rembrandt's Elephant, Netherlands Quarterly for the History of Art, Vol. 11, No. 1 (1980), pp. 7-13, @ p.7-8.
