Deutsch: Das Tor weist auf das ehemalige römische Kastell hin, an dessen Stelle heute die katholische Pfarrkirche steht. Das Kastell wurde im 2. Jahrhundert zu einem Steinkastell ausgebaut. Das sechsspeichige Rad sowie die Farben Silber und Rot erinnern an die territoriale Zugehörigkeit zum Kurstaat Mainz von 1292 bis zum Ende des Alten Reichs 1803. |
