Deutsch: Das von Hans Heinrich Reclam entworfene Wappen wurde 1966 vom Regierungspräsidenten in Osnabrück verliehen. Es ist das Wappen der 1971 aufgelösten Samtgemeinde Laer. Der Turnierkragen ist dem Wappen der Familie von Lodre entnommen. Seine fünf Lätze stehen für die ehemals selbstständigen Gemeinden Westerwiede, Hardensetten, Winkelsetten, Müschen und Laer. Die mit der Gebietsreform hinzu gekommene Gemeinde Remsede ist also symbolisch nicht vertreten. Einen Treppengiebel mit je sieben Stufen hat auch
die Spitze des im Ursprung romanischen Kirchturms, der als Wahrzeichen von Bad Laer gilt. Der blaue Wellenbalken symbolisiert die Solequellen des Kurorts. Die Farben Silber und Rot sind stehen für die frühere Zugehörigkeit zum Hochstift Osnabrück. |
